The resistance movement is an initiative by the volunteers at Reconnect Rochester to raise awareness of the price we pay to drive, and to grow support for smart transportation alternatives.

FACT: Households that use public transportation and live with one less car can save on average $9,000 every year.[1]
FACT: Every $1 invested in public transportation generates approximately $4 in economic returns.[1]
FACT: Based on polls, over 60% of the population believes that there is likely alien life in outer space.[2] 48% of the population believes that aliens from outer space may be visiting the Earth in UFOs. 12% claim to have seen a UFO. Just 2% of Rochesterians use public transit to get to and from work.[3]
FACT: Combined, Rochesterians drive over 10,907,000 miles a day.[4] Now take a deep breath... That's 3,781,271,334 pounds of CO2[5] pumped into our air each year. (Probably explains why the extraterrestrials cant breathe our air.)
FACT: Rochester drivers burn more than 236 MILLION gallons of gas each year.[6] That's 11,804,779 barrels of oil[7]; More than the U.S. imports from Kazakhstan, Egypt, China and UAE combined.[8]
FACT: A ride on an RTS bus costs just one dollar. Comparatively speaking, if you drive to work everyday alone your fixed costs including fuel, maintenance, parking and depreciation, can exceed $1... PER MILE.[9]
These alien abductors are far too powerful for us to do this alone. Rochester loses over $1.5 MILLION each day we sit idle. Use email or your Facebook network to spread the word. But use caution you dont want to cause wide-spread panic.
